Most of Cola is water which
contains a lot of sugar, gas, colour, acid. Together
with an adult you can make transparent, colourless water from
it.
Left: Keep 20 ml
of Cola in a big 50-ml infusion bottle until no
more bubbles can be seen.
* Close it by a stopper
pierced by a plastic pipette tip which is connected with a transfusion
tubing.
* Connect this tubing with
a Liquemin bottle cooled by water. * The bottles are fixed to each other
by a wire.
* The bottle with Cola is
heated on an electric hot plate. Observations
(middle):
The liquid boils. Vapour condenses in the tubing.
* A colourless, transparent
liquid collects in the Heparin vial.
* Right: At the side
of the tubing a digital thermometer is placed inside the big stopper.
* The water of Cola boils
at 100°C.
