org15 Homologous series of alkanols 2: Run out speed

Left 1 ml of methanol, 1 ml of ethanol,  1 ml of primary propanol  and 1 ml of primary butanol are sucked into 4 different insulin syringes with integrated needles.
Right: These homologous alkanols had 11 minutes time to run out into a 3-ml vial.
Observation:
The run out speeds of methanol, ethanol, propanol and butanol increase is this series.
(0.8 ml/11 min ...... 0.2 ml/11 min).
Explanation:
Methanol has a hydrocarbon rest  CH3-,
ethanol has a hydrocarbon rest     CH3-CH2-,
propanol has a hydrocarbon rest  CH3-CH2-CH2-,
butanol has a hydrocarbon rest    CH3-CH2-,CH2-CH2-

The longer the hydrocarbon rest is the stronger are the forces acting between the alcohol molecules (cohesion) and between the molecules of the syringes and those of the alcohols (adhesion).
